In 2008, I went to the Southern Highway
with my family. We were 10, so we had to use two cars.
The first place we stopped was Valdivia,
even though it wasn’t part of southern Highway, we take advantage of the trip
to visit my aunt and my uncle, who live there.
Two days after, we continued our way south,
arriving in Puerto Montt, where we take a ferry to Chaiten. It was an 8 hour
trip, but due to bad weather conditions, it took us 16 hours to arrive. That
part it wasn’t great, I have to admit it.
But when we arrived all the effort was
worth it. Chaiten was a beautiful place and it was just the beginning.
The trip lasted almost a month, time in
which we knew places like: Futaleufú, Palena, Aysén and Puyuhuapi.
We not only met different places, but also
different cultures, foods and activities. They had a lot of different customs
fairs and celebrations.
The best place was Futaleufu, where we
could do activities such as kayaking and rafting. We stayed in a place called
"La cara del indio”, which had a beautiful house made of trees (not wood
but really trees). It had its own sauna!!!
It was the best experience of all, but what
made it so great was that it was with the family.
I hope one day we can come back!

ResponderBorrarI would love trip to the south of Chile, I think you are so lucky
ResponderBorrarWith my family we went south and passed through Chaiten, after the volcanic eruption, it was very sad to see the houses covered in ashes.
